Help create food security with Vitality MoveToGive and Afrika Tikkun

Are you worried about the thousands of South Africans going hungry during COVID-19? Now you can donate your Discovery Miles through Vitality MoveToGive to Afrika Tikkun’s 'Keep the wolf from the door' campaign and help create food security in our country.

This month, Vitality members can donate their Discovery Miles through Vitality MoveToGive to help provide food to people in poor and rural communities. It’s called the 'Keep the wolf from the door' campaign, and you’re invited to get involved.

Donate to 'Keep the wolf from the door'

Vitality MoveToGive has partnered with the non-profit organisation Afrika Tikkun on their latest initiative, the 'Keep the wolf from the door' campaign.

The brainchild of 91-year-old South African Solly Krok, this initiative aims to raise funds to donate to institutions that are providing food to people in poor and rural communities. Solly has committed to raising R108 million to help build food security in vulnerable communities. He recently completed a 91 km charity walk to raise funds towards this worthy cause.

How can you help?

You can help Solly raise money to promote food security by donating your Discovery Miles to the 'Keep the wolf from the door' campaign in the Discovery app.

To donate to Vitality MoveToGive, all you have to do is:
  1. Activate Vitality Active Rewards in the latest version of the Discovery app.
  2. Achieve your exercise, drive or money goals to earn a play on the gameboard.
  3. Pick a tile on the gameboard to reveal Discovery Miles.
  4. Spend your Discovery Miles on Vitality MoveToGive charity donations.
Your contribution will help provide food to people in poor and rural communities during the COVID-19 pandemic and afterwards.

Terms and conditions apply.

Be like Solly – walk the talk

“My heart bleeds for people who don’t have food,” Solly says. He explains why he’s decided to start the campaign. “I’ve never walked, I’ve never run, I’ve never gone to gym in my whole life. The vast majority of people getting food today, after COVID-19 has been quelled, they will still remain poor. So, I spoke to Adrian Gore and we agreed that we should do something for the long term.”
