Vitality helps you to get healthier by giving you the knowledge, tools and motivation to improve your health. The more you use Vitality’s partners and do Vitality health assessments, the healthier you’ll get.
By doing the healthy activities, you will earn Vitality points that add up to a Vitality status. Every step earns you Vitality points and improves your Vitality status. The more points you earn, the more travel, shopping and lifestyle rewards you get!

What is available at the Wellness Day?
You will be able to complete the following tests and earn maximum Vitality points on the day, depending on your health and fitness level:
Vitality Health Check & HIV screening
- One assessment per year
- Blood glucose test, blood pressure test, cholesterol test, weight assessment, non-smoker declaration and HIV screening
- Earn between 7 500 and 25 000 points
- Increase your HealthyFood and HealthyCare cashback
- Do not eat or drink for 2-3 hours before your appointment
The cost of the assessment for Non-Discovery Health members is R300. For Discovery health members, this cost will be paid from your Screening and Prevention Benefit, once a year.
Vitality Fitness Assessment
- One assessment per year
- This is an easy test that will tell you how fit you are
- Earn between 2 500 and 7 500 points
- NB: These points will count towards your 30 000 maximum fitness points in a year
- Increase your HealthyGear cashback
- Wear comfortable clothing
The cost of the assessment is R400. Discovery Health members can claim from their MSA, provided that there are sufficient funds. If you not have an MSA or no funds available in your MSA, please bring cash to pay the providers.
Nutrition Consultation
- One assessment per year
- Our registered dietician will assess your nutritional intake using the state of the art InBody Body Composition Analyser. It is the most accurate, precise, and convenient method to measure body fat, muscle mass, and much more. It gives you a total of 27 different readings which includes:
- Total body water
- Muscle mass
- Minerals available to build bone
- Total body fat mass
- Metabolic rate
- Internal organ fat i.e. Visceral fat etc.
- Earn 1 000 points. Please note that the points for this assessment has reduced from last year
The cost of the assessment is R290. Discovery Health members can claim from their MSA, provided that there are sufficient funds. If you not have an MSA or no funds available in your MSA, please bring cash to pay the providers.
